Found in western Yunnan province of China on tree trunks in evergreen broad-leaved forests at elevations of 2500 to 3000 meters as a small to just medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with a pendulous stem carrying subterete, acuminate leaves that blooms in the spring on a lateral, 1 to 5 flowered inflorescence with ovate floral bracts
