Found in southwesern and southern Cape Province of South Africa in grasslands as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a basally single, ground-hugging, ovoid to orbicular, cordate, wavy edged, glabrous leaf that blooms in the winter and spring on a bracteate, shortly refelexed hairy, 6 to 20" [15 to 50 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence carrying dimorphc flowers.
