Common Name Johnston's Holothrix [American Botanist and collector of the type 1900's]

Found in southern Malawi at elevations of 1828 to 2438 meters on wet mossy rocks and seepage slopes as a small sized, cool to cold growing lithophyte or terrestrial with several white tubers giving rise to 2, plus a single basal leaf, radical, ovate-orbicular, obtuse, pale green, fleshy, silky white hairy on the upper surface leaves that blooms in the fall, winter and early spring on an erect, slender, cylindric, enveloped by white hairs, green becoming reddish purple and glabrous towards the base, terminal, rachis, 2.4" [6 cm] long, 15 to 20 flowered inflorescence with inflorescence carrying secund flowers.
