Found in southwestern and southern Cape Province in rocky areas in dry scrub at elevations near sea level to 1100 meters as a slender, small to just medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a stem with stiff deflexed hairs and carrying several densely hairy above leaves that blooms in the spring through summer on an erect, to 12" [30 cm] long, lax to dense, many flowered inflorescence
