Common Name The Racemose Hormidium
Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]
Found in San Jose province of Costa Rica and Panama in wet forests at elevations around 1200 to 1900 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with ellipsoid pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical leaves that blooms in the summer on a racemose, terminal, arising through a spathe, .8 to 1.6" [2 to 4 cm] long, 6 to 15 flowered inflorescence thin, triangular-lanceoalte, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts and carrying small, fleshy flowers.
Differs from H pygmaeum in the relatively large and many flowerd inflorescence and the lip. Differs from H pseudopygmaeum in the shorter, thinner pseudobulbs and the evenly tapering floral bracts and in the lip.
