Found in the department of Narino Colombia and Ecuador in western facing lowland rainforest slopes at an elevations around 200 to 230 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a loose fan of narrowly elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate base leaves that are articulated to the sheaths below that clasp the short stem and blooms in the spring on an axillary, erect, 1 1/4" [3 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence holding the flower at the base of the leaves.
