Common Name Vargas' Huntleya [Antioneta Vargas, Peruvian Orchid Enthusiast current]

Flower Size 2.5" [6.25 cm]

Found in Peru in wet montane forests at elevations of 300 to 1500 meters as a small to just medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a fan of narrowly elliptic leaves that bloom in the spring on an axillary, 8" [20 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence

Similar to H meleagris but differs in the horizontally held labellum and the 12 raised laminae down the mid-portion of the lip.
