Found in New Guinea in mist forests at elevations around 1100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, monopodial epiphyte with a short erect stem enveloped by leaf bearing sheaths and carrying patent-oblong, apiculate, fleshy, minutely serrate margined leaves that blooms in the early summer on a short, few flowered inflorescence
