Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru on steep roadside embankments and cliffs at elevations around 1870 meters as a large sized, cool growing terrestrial with pyriform, ridged, unspined pseudobulbs carrying 3, plicate, elliptic leaves that blooms in April with the onset of new growths on an erect, 8" [20 cm] long, to 8 flowered inflorescence.
