Common Name The Wide Sudamerlycaste [refers to the short, wide tepals]

Flower Size 1.4" [3.5 cm]

Found in Ecuador and Peru as a small sized, cool growing orchid with oblong-ellipsoid, slightly compressed, hexangular with blunt edges pseudobulbs carrying 2, elliptic-lanceolate, plicate, gradually narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, 1.2 to 3.2" [3 to 8 cm] long, single flowered inflorescnece carrying flowers with no fragrance.
