Found in Guatemala and El Salvador at elevations around 800 to 2100 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with erect, arcuate, terete below, compressed above stem enveloped by sheaths and carrying distichous, oblong, obtuse, emarginate, dark green suffused with purple, slightly coriaceous leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on a terminal, short, descending, densely many flowered inflorescence
