Found in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama at elevations of 820 to 1900 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with erect stems completely enveloped by leaf bearing sheaths and carrying dark green, shorter thowards the apex, linear-lanceolate, gradually narrows below into the clasping base leaves and blooms in the winter through summer on a terminal, racemose, 5 to 10 flowered inflorescence.
