Common Name The Luer's Ixyophora [Dr & Mrs Luer's Ixyophora Preeminent authorities on the Pleurothallids current]

    Flower Size

Found only in Bolivia at elevations of 2150 to 2350 meters as a medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with a few, held loosely in a fan, lanceolate, acute, articulated to the leaf bases below leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an axillary, to 4" [10 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.

CAUTION I am 100% convinced that this determination is correct and is not I aurantiaca. Often cited in reverse, such as in Harding's Huntleyas etc. 2008 The flowers by Altamirano and Ibisch were taken in situ in Bolivia and L auriantica is from Peru.
