Found in Guyana and Venezuela in the Gran Sabana area in fairly tall forests at elevations around 1300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with caespitose, leafy, compressed stems completely enveloped by leaf sheath bases carrying distichous, equitant, imbricating, spreading, conduplicate, linear-lanceolate leaves that blooms on a terminal, nodding, fasciculate series of dark wine red peduncles, successively single flowered inflorescence arising through a grey shapeless sheath and carrying a very fleshy, wine colored flower.
