Found in southeastern Madagascar in ridge top evergreen forests on low treees and on mossy boulders near rivers at elevations of 500 to 1000 meters as a medium to large sized, warm growing, clump forming epiphyte or lithophyte with basally branching stems carrying narrowly oblong-ligulate, dark glossy green leaves that blooms in the mid summer on an axillary, from the upper nodes, peduncle 1 to 1.4" [2.5 to 3.5 cm] long, s to 2 flowered inflorescence carrying white, strongly sweetly scented flowers.
