Found in northern and northwestern Madagascar on tree trunks in lichen forests at elevations around 2000 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a short to stemless orchid carrying 4 to 5, short, thick, equally lobed apically leaves that blooms in the early summer on a from the stem, beneath the leaves, peduncle short .5 to .8" [1.2 to 2 cm] long, 1.4 to 3.2" [3.5 to 8 cm] long overall, single flowered inflorescence.
