Found in Peru in the Macchu Picchu area in seasonally dry, montane forests at elevations around 2000 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a fan of narrowly lanceolate, decurrently petiolate, acute, conduplicate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring and fall on a several, suberect to laxly sub-pendent, 3" [7.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with funnel-shaped, broadly obovate, obtuse floral bracts
