Found in Ecuador and Peru in moist cloudforests as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing, caespitose epiphyte that occurs at elevations of 1900 to 2500 meters with a fan shaped growth made up of imbricate, conduplicate, leaf-bearing sheaths carrying linear, subpetiolate, acuminate leaves and blooms sporadically throughout the year but especially in the summeron an axillary, pendant, single flowered inflorescence held below the leaves and having minute bracts.
