Found in Venezuela in tall forests at elevations around 1100 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with pale green, hard, shiny, strongly compressed, subquadrate pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, olive green above, reddish beneath, elliptic, plicate, finely ribbed, mid rib sulcate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves thst blooms in the summer on a basal, pendant, maroon pubescent, 5" [12.5 cm] long, few to 8 flowered inflorescence with pinky brown floral bracts and carrying fragrant flowers
