Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil forests at elevations around 1000 meters as a miniature [without inflorescence] sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose lithoterrestrial with an inconspicuous rhizome giving rise to articulate, cylindrical, attenuate apically pseudobulbs enveloped bsally by deciduous sheaths and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, elliptic-lanceolate, conduplicate below into the base leaf that blooms in the summer on a terminal, through a linear-truncate, oblique spathe, racemose, peduncle 16" [37 cm] long, rachis 1.2" [3 cm] long, simultaneously 6 or so flowered inflorescence.
