Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil on rocky outcrops near Velloziaceae with accumulations of organic material at elevations around 1360 meters as a mini-miniature [without inflorescence] sized, cool growing, saxicolus terrestrial with an inconspicuous rhizome giving rise to pyriform-elongate pseudobulbs enveloped by papery, deciduous sheaths and carrying a single, erect, fleshy, leathery, green with red margins, elliptic-lanceolate, conduplicate below into the base leaf that blooms in the winter on a terminal, arising through a linear-truncate, oblique spathe, erect, to 4.4" [11 cm] long, simultaneously 3 flowered inflorescence.
