Common Name Alain's Lankesterella [Dr Henri Alain Liogier French Botanist 1916 -2009]

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Cuba and the Dominican Republic in montane forests at elevations around 1400 to 1700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a basal rosette of 1 to 3, soft, obovate, acute, ciliolate margined leaves that blooms in the mid winter on a terminal, slender, longer than the leaves, densely villous, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acuminate, villose, much longer than the ovaries floral bracts and carrying exernally villous flowers

Similar to L orthanthae but is distinguished by a differently proportioned lip.
