Common Name The Caespitose Lankesterella
Flower Size .1" [2.5 mm]
Found in Venezuela and Brazil at elevations around 1200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with fasciculate, fleshy, thick roots giving rise to a few, rosulate, light green, soft, fleshy, smooth, shiny above, duller below, microscopically glandular-erose marginally, subacute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the summer on a suberect, peduncle 2" [5 cm] long, arcuate, rachis 1.08" [2.7 cm] long, secund, subdensely to 10 flowered inflorescence with ovate to broadl;y ovate, acute, herbaceous, thjin, densely long pilose along the margins, longer than the ovary floarl bracts and carrying small, inconspicuous, resupinate flowers..
" Unlike Lankesterella orthantha , L caespitosa has a long, subulate rostellum and a narrow, long viscidium. Additionally its spur is conical-saccate and much more prominent than in L orthantha." Szlachetko & Kolanowska 2019
