Deep Shade Spring

Common Name The Long Column Lankestrella

Flower Size 3/8" [9 mm]

Found in Sao Paulo state of Brazil as a mini-miniature sized epiphyte with several, shiney light green, lanceolate, obtuse, pubescent beneath, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, pubescent, 1.2 to 2" [3 to 5 cm] long, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, sparsely pubescent, 3 nerved, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying flowers with externally pubesecnt tepals.

Easily confused with Lankesterella spannageliana as the lips of both species are very similar but the ovary and spur of L spannageliana is much longer and the ovary has a large apical hump.

Synonyms Cladobium longicolle (Cogn.) Schltr. 1920; *Stenorrhynchos longicolle Cogn. 1906
