Common Name The Small Leaved Epidendrum

Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia on small trees on steep rocky, exposed slopes in canyons or wet montane cloud forests at elevations around 200 to 1900 meters as a miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with slender, fusiform, erect stems enveloped basally by several, small, close sheaths and carrying linear-lanceolate, coriaceous, semi-terete with a shallow median furrow, clasping basally, acute apically leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, laxly 5 to 7 flowered, racemose, pilose hyaline inflorescence with 3 basal, subdistant, elongate, triangular bracts and similar yet shorter flower bracts.
