Common Name or Meaning Colnago's Laelia [Brazilian collector of the species current]

Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil on inselbergs of rock in soil pockets at elevations around 1290 meters as a small sized, cool growing, caespitose rupicolous lithophyte with claviform, slihtly arching pseudpbulbs enveloped basally by amplexicaul, acute sheaths and carryin 1 to rarely 2, apical, elliptic to lanceoalte, rounded and slightly apiculate apically, coriaceous, bottle green leaves that blooms in the summer and early fall on an erect, arising through a membraneous, ensiform, acute spathe, peduncle as long as the rachis, 10.4 to 12" [27 to 30 cm] long, 3 to 9 flwoered inflorescence with short, triangular floral bracts.
