Found in Thailand in tropical evergreen forests at elevations around 500 to 600 meters as a small to just large sized, warm growing terrestrial with erect, dark purple to black, branched stems carrying glabrous, ovate, acute, coriaceous, amplexicaul sheaths that blooms in the mid winter through early fall on an erect, 8 to 26” [20 to 65 cm] long, glabrous, 3 to 15 flowered inflorescence with a .6 to 1.6” [1.5 to 4 cm] long, rachis carrying ovate, glabrous, membraneous margined bracts
