Found in New Guinea at elevations around 800 to 1000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with rigid, distantly sheathed, terete, glabrous stems without leaves that blooms in fall and winter on an erect, short, 2 to 5 flowered inflorescence with minute, ovate-deltoid, acute floral bracts.

Schlechter states that the flowers are pale violet
