Common Name The Spotted Rhynchostele

Flower Size 2 1/2" [6.5 cm]

Found in Jalisco, Michoacan, Guerrerro, Mexico, Oaxaca, Vera Cruz states of Mexico and Guatemala at elevations of 1750 to 3000 meters in humid, montane, pine-oak forests on trees and rocks as a small to medium sized, cold to warm growing epiphyte with smooth, oblong, laterally compressed pseudobulbs subtended by 1 to 2 basal, foliaceous or not sheaths carrying a single [rarely 2], apical, lanceolate, apiculate, basally cuneate leaf that blooms from the fall through the spring on a basal, erect, rarely branched, to 2' [60 cm] long, several [3 to 6] flowered inflorescence arising through the leaf axil as a new growth matures with lanceolate, acuminate bracts.
