Common Name The Papillose Lemurella [refers to the inflorescence]

Found in northern and northeastern Madagascar at elevations of 800 to 1000 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with an erect, slender stem enveloped completely by leaf sheaths carrying 2 ranked, linear to linear-oblong, basally twisted so as to all lie in one plane, acute leaves that blooms in the summer, fall and early winter on an axillary, peduncle slender, 1.2 to 2" [3 to 5 cm] long, pubescent to papilose, pendent, 1.6" [4 cm] long, single to several flowered inflorescence carrying well spaced green flowers.
