Common Name The Almolonga Lepanthes [A valley in Guatemala]

Found in Chiapas state of Mexico and Guatemala in cloud forests at elevations of 2400 to 2900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, flexuous ramicauls enveloped by 3 to 7, muricate-dentate lepanthiform sheaths with papilose-verrucose ostia carrying a single, apical, elliptic, acute and tridentate apically, lightly arcuate, fleshy, intense green, axialmente sulcate, slightly twisted below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring and earlier summer on 2 to 6, filiform, terete, to .84" [to 21 mm] long, mostly on the top of the leaf, distichous, sinuous, more congested towards the apex, successively single to 10 flowered inflorescence.
"The relatively large flowered species is distinguished by the sublax inflorescence shorter than the elliptical leaf, ovate, glabrous sepals, bilobed petals with the apices ofthe lobes rounded, ovate blades of the lip with acute apices, a narrow body with an acute, cilate sinus and a minute appendix."
