Found in Bolivar state of Venezuela and Colombia in rather scrubby, dwarf cloud forests at elevations around 2600 to 2950 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 5 to 8, inflated, acuminate, imbricating lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, obtuse and mucronate apically, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, to 2.4" [6 cm] long, fractiflex, loose, successively single flowered inflorescence with triangular, acuminate bracts.
