Found in Norte de Santander department of Colombia at elevations around 2000 to 3150 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls enveloped by 5 to 7, long-pubescent lepanthiform sheaths with dilated ostia and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, ovate, acute, rounded and contracted below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring and summer on a filiform, congested, distichous, .93" [ 2.3 cm] long including the .48 to .6" [8 mm] long peduncle, successively few flowered inflorescence arising on the back of the leaf.
