Found in Miranda state of Venezuela in forests at elevations around 600 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by to 12, pale, long-ciliate lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thinly coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, lightly acuminate, cuneate below intothe petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, arising from behind the leaf, peduncle filiform, .6" [1.5 cm] long, rachis to .32" [8 mm] long, congested, distichous, successively single, several flowered inflorescence with echinate, longer than the pedicel floral bracts and carrying flowers with yellow-green, glabrous sepals, dull orange, minutely pubescent petals with a purple border and an orange brown lip.
"Although unusual, a pair of appendices, one behind the other, seen externally on the body of the lip of this species has been seen in extremely few other species e.g. L. eumeces." Luer 1986
