Found in Cochabamba department of Bolivia at elevations around 2800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 5 to 8, lepanthiform sheaths with dilated, ciliate ostia and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, purple, ovate, acute, rounded and contracted below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the early summer on a loose, .48 to .56" [1.2 to 1.4 cm] long including the .2 to .28" [5 to 7 mm] long, successively 3 to 4, many flowered inflorescence arising on the back of the leaf.
