Common Name or Meaning The Calima Lepanthes [A dam in the Department of Valle de Cauca Colombia]

Flower Size

Found in the Department of Valle de Cauca, Colombia in wet premontane and montane forests near the Calima dam at elevations of 1500 to 1750 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 2, short, lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic, narrowing below to form a short, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter through early spring on a filiform, longer than the leaf, .8 to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence carrying rather large flowers for the size of the plant
