Deep Shade Cold Summer

Common Name or Meaning Cogollo's Lepanthes [Colombian Curator of JAUM in Medellin current]

Flower Size .16" [4 mm]

Found in Santander department of Colombia in cloud forests at elevations around 2850 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 7 to 8, microscopicaly ciliate, lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical-ovate, acute, lightly acuminate, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a slender, congested, .92 to 1" [2.3 to 2.5 cm] long including the .72 to .8" [1.8 to 2 cm] long peduncle, successively single, several flowered inflorescence arising from beneath the leaf with echinate floral bracts.

CAUTION The flower photos by Sebastian do not match the type exactly, they differ in the much wider lip lobes fully enveloping the column, otherwise the photos match the type
