Common Name The Little Net Lepanthes [refers to the reticulate leaves]

Found in the eastern lowlands of Ecuador and Peru in cloud forests at elevations 1400 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with suberect to erect ramicauls enveloped by 6 to 8, long-ciliate, lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thinly coriaceous, purple reticulated, suborbicular, rounded apically and obtusely apiculate, rounded basally and abruptly contracted into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a subdense, behind the leaf, .4" [1 cm] long, racemose, successively several flowered inflorescence.

"The round, purple reticulated leaves of this delicate, distinctive little species are borne by much longer, frail, long-ciliate stems. The subdense raceme is borne behind the leaf. THe sepals and l;obes of the petals are acute, the blades of the lip are narrowly ovate and from the cleft sinus emerges an "S" shped appendix." Luer1996
