Full Shade Cold Spring

Common Name Dunsterville's Lepanthes [American Orchid Collector and enthusiast Venezuela later 1900's]

Flower Size 1/8" [.3 cm]

Found in Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of 2600 to 3200 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, stout ramicals enveloped by 10 to 16 ciliate lepanthiform with dilated ostia and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical-ovate, subacute, acuminate, apically bilobed, 3, nerved, dark green above, blue green below, often suffused with purple beneath, broadly cuneate, rounded and contracted into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on acongested, distichous, borne on the back of the leaf, peduncle filiform, .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] long, rachis to .8" [2 cm] long, successively to 3, many flowered inflorescence with longer than teh pedicel floral bracts.
