Common Name The Jointed Lepanthes
Flower Size .15" [3mm]
Found in Costa Rica at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphtye with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped completely by 4 to 5, lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, narrowly elliptic, tridenticulate, gradually narrows below into the cuneate base leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect, .8" [2 cm] long, successively single several flowered inflorescence.
"This little species is easily recognized by the small habit with filiform peduncle, considerably longer than the leaf, that bears a congested raceme of comparitively large, slender flowers. Also disitnctive is the transversely reniform lip that surrounds the column reminiscent of that of the Ecuadorian L columbar, L helcium and L homotaxis.
