Found in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia? to Venezuela? at elevations of 1400 to 2200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphytic species with erect ramcicauls enveloped completely by 4 to 7, tubular, dilated apically, acuminate, lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, lanceolate, ovate lanceolate,to narrowly ovate, acute to acuminate, narrowing below into the short, petiolate base leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on 1 to a few, 1/2" to 1.2" [1.2 to 2.8 cm] long, successively few flowered inflorescence.
