Found in Peru and Bolivia at elevations around 2550 to 2700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 4 to 7, long ciliate lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, purple suffused beneath, coriaceous, ovate, obtuse, broadly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and early summer on 1 to 3, slender, loose, distichous, flexuous, .88 to 1" [2.2 to 2.5 cm] long including the .28 to .4" [7 to 10 mm] long peduncle, successively single, 5 to 7 flowered inflorescence eventually equalling to slightly longer than the leaf.
