Flower Size .24" [6 mm]
Found in Ecuador without collection data as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with pendent rhizomes giving rise to ramicauls concealed by a infundibular, long-ciliate lepanthiform sheath and carrying a single, apical, pendent, distichous, thickly coriaceous, glabrous, ovate, obtuse, rounded and contracted below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on an ascending, .15 to .24" [4 to 6 mm] long, single to distant successively 2 flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
"Distinguished by the small habit with ovate, glabrous leaves and a short, ascending, successively two flowered racemes. Except for being twice larger the flowers are very similar to L ciliaris but its sepals are broader with the dorsal broader than long and the lateral sepals are free and diverging. In the new species the sepals are proportionally narrower and reflexed and the laterals are semiconnate. The petals of both species are small, those of L ciliaris being twice as long and lunate in shape. The lips of both specis are horse-shoe shaped." Luer 1002
