Found in Peru in cloud forests at elevations around 3600 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender to filiform, erect, ramicauls enveloped by numerous, close, tubular, minutely scabrous lepanthiform sheaths with dilated, hispid ostia and carrying a single, apical, erect to spreading, coriaceous, oblong-ovate, subabruptly acuminate to tridentate, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on 2 to 3 rarely 4, shorter than the leaf, successively densely 2 to several flowered inflorescence with minute, infundibuliform, glabrous, apparently dark reddish brown floral bracts. and carrying yellow, very small, glabrous flowers
