Common Name The Reminder Lepanthes [refering to its morphological similarity to L elata]

Found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia in cloud forests at elevations around 1700 to 3500 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with an erect, slender to stout ramicaul enveloped by 9 to 14, minutely ciliate, lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thinly coriaceous, oblong-ovate, acute, acuminate, cuneate to rounded below into the contracted, petiolate base leaf that blooms late winter through summer on a filiform, congested, distichous, 3.2" [8 cm] long including the 1.6" [4 cm] long peduncle, racemose, successively single, many flowered inflorescence arising from behind the leaf.
" The most distinguishing feature is the appendix which is broadly triangular and pubescent while in the similar L elata the appendix is pedunculate and narrowly hinged in the sinus of the lip." Luer 1996
Similar to the Colombian and Central American L elata and L ballatrix from Colombia and Ecuador.
