Found in Gramma and Santiago de Cuba provinces of Cuba at elevations of 1350 to 1950 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 5 to 6 microscopically ciliate lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, microscopically subdenticulate, elliptical-ovate, subacute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, borne on top of the leaf, peduncle filiform, .28 to .32" [7 to 8 mm] long, rachis .2" [5 mm] long, subdense, distichous, successively single,several flowered inflorescence with oblique, longter than the pedicel floral bracts.
