Common Name The Short-Haired Lepanthes [refers to the pubescent leaves]

Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia at elevations of 1500 to 2400 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a pendant growing, pilose rhizome to 20" [50 cm] long with ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, pendant, coriaceous, pubescent to glabrous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, basally contracted into a petiolate leaf that blooms in the winter, spring and fall on an ascending, congested, .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] long, successively few flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of the ramicaul and has a ciliate floral bract and the flower is held away from the leaf.
Similar to L erepsis but this one has 7 veins on the dorsal sepal and L erepsis has 9. Also L erepsis has a basal lobe on the petals which L pilosella does not.
This species needs, deep shade, high humidity, constant watering and fertilizer year round.
