Found in La Vega and San Jose de Ocoa provinces of the Dominican Republic in wet, broadleaved, montane forests at elevations of 1600 to 2100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with a slender, erect ramicaul enveloped by 2 to 3, microscopically ciliate lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, margins cellular denticulate, cuneate below into a petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring on an erect, peduncle .12 to .2" [3 to 5 mm] long, rachis congested, flexuous, distichous, to .6" [1.5 cm] long, successively single, several flowered inflorescence with slightly echinate, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
