Found in northwestern [Tachira state] Venezuela and Arauca department of Colombia at elevations around 2900 to 3100 meters as a small sized, cold growing, proliferating epiphyte or terrestrial lithophyte, with proliferating, slender, ramicauls enveloped by 7 to 13, tubular, lepanthiform sheaths the newer ones with dilated ostia and carrying a single, suberect, slightly coriaceous, lanceolate to widely lanceolate, acuminate, slightly tridenticulate apically, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a slender, congested, 1.13" [2.8 cm] long including the .72" [1.8 cm] long peduncle, successively single, few flowered inflorescence arising on top of the leaf.
