Common Name Rabe's Lepanthes [American Original CoCollector of species 1900's]

Flower Size .2" [5 mm]

Found in northeastern Colombia and northwestern Venezuela at elevations of 2700 to 2900 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte, with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 6 to 9, lepanthiform sheaths with acuminate, ciliate ostia and carrying a single, erect, thinly coriaceous, narrowly lanceolate, subacuminate, tridenticulate, attenuate below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms on various, slender, congested, distichous, .68 to 1.4" [1.7 to 3.5 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence.

!!!!!!!!!!!!CAUTION!!! I cannot verify this photo determination, does not fit Foldat's original drawing so use with extreme caution. Also Luer feels that this species is synomonous with Lepanthes aquila-borussiae and I have to agree after seeing both Foldat's and Rchbf.'s drawings
